Glycan profiling of epidermal stem cells during aging

Our new paper is out!

Oinam L, Changarathil G, Raja E, Yen Ngo YX, Tateno H*, Sada A*, Yanagisawa H: Glycome profiling by lectin microarray reveals dynamic glycan alterations during epidermal stem cell aging.

Aging Cell, e13190, 2020. *corresponding authors. doi: 10.1111/acel.13190

A PhD student Lalhaba Oinam, a first author of this paper, started this project about 4 years ago, as a collaboration with Dr. Tateno at AIST. Glycobiology is a new field for me and we had many challenges using in vivo mouse samples for glycan analysis. But I still remember the day that Lal came to me for discussion with very exciting lectin microarray data, showing glycan pattern changes are so different between young and old mouse epidermal stem cells! Congratulations, Lal for your beautiful work. I am glad to be a mentor of you, working together and seeing you grown up so much. I am proud of you.

Thank you Gopu, for your hard work, especially doing so many FACS experiments, Erna and Yen for all your contribution especially with in vitro studies.

Last but not least, I would like to thank Dr. Hiromi Yanagisawa for your continued support and Dr. Tateno for wonderful collaboration.

For me, this is my second paper as a corresponding author. I hope we can continue to drive our research forward. Glycobiology is so exciting field. A lot more to explore.

Our work is picked by several web news. If someone is interested in our work, please do not hesitate to contact me.
